21 Days (but who's counting?)

So I think I was about ready to walk out on my first graders today! I'm not sure if it was the crappy weather we had today, the massive headache I had or the fact that my kids were just plain rotten? But I was really at my whits end! All day today my kids seemed to fail to mention my existence!! It was as if I was talking to myself. I think the last straw was when I was walking around the room and my heels kept catching the back of my pants....so I took them off. Well while I was making the rounds to make sure kids were on task and completing the assignment, one of my kids was rocking forward on his chair. Now I can't tell you how many times I have told this certain individual to put all four legs on the ground....probably a million. so as I was walking by him, he all of a sudden decides it is finally a good time to put his chair down and SMASH! there went my pinky toe!! Needless to say I spent the rest of the day bare foot because my toe hurt too bad to wear shoes. Anyway.....I love my kids but I think it's time we part ways. haha actually I'm sad that they will be leaving me but hey i still have ....21 days .

Skiing with my Honey

Last year Scottie and I went skiing at Brianhead Resort. Well since I played basketball growing up I was forbidden to go skiing or we would suffer the consequences....so to make a long story short I never went. Well when Scottie mentioned that we should go skiing over Thanksgiving I thought "Hey sounds fun! Shouldn't be too hard?" and we went. haha bad idea! I absolutely freaked! Since the only hill I had ever skiied on as a child was the bunny hill it was a difficult come back when our first run was a sheer drop off (ok well maybe I'm over doing it a little?) Lets just say the next time we went skiing over Easter break, we stuck to the bunny slopes (thanks to a little coaxing and a great husband). Never the less we had a great time! Or should I say I had a great time!? Thanks babe for putting up with your whimpy whimpy wife!

Honeymoon in Hawaii

When Scottie and I were deciding when we were going to get married, the time of year was a big factor. I have always wanted to get married in the fall and we just wanted to be married right away. Needless to say I won and since we were married in the middle of the school year and Scottie being in the Junior Core at BYU, there was no time to take a honey moon. So we took a week to play in Hawaii over Christmas break. Even though it rained the whole time we were there and I came home whiter than a ghost- it was still a blast. Why? Because I was with my Scottie. Here we are in Hawaii, hiking, swimming, visiting the Hawaiian Temple, at the Ploynesian Cultrual Center, taking the Pearl Harbor auido tour (that's for you Dad), and getting lost in our rental car on the crazy roads in....HAWAII!
Teaching First Grade

Everyone says the first year of teaching is the hardest and I would definately have to agree with them. At the same time I had it a lot easier thanks to the wonderful first grade teachers on my team! This year I got to move out of the white trash trailer and into a real classroom! Not only did I have a hard time figuring out how to use up all the extra space, but I also don't know how I managed to teach in such a tiny trailer!! After finally moving all of my stuff in and getting back into school I realized that I was blessed with a very well behaved class!!! Not only are they good lil' kids but they are cute as can be and I have enjoyed every second getting to know their fun little personalities....and their not so good moments as well!
Wedding Gifts

Ok, so even though it's been six months I still have a few random gifts to return from our wedding (which probably will never be because I have no clue where they belong!). I'm sure that everyone who is married has been through this wonderful process of returning multiple item gifts and I'm sure we'd all agree that trying to find the store it belongs to well.....it's a pain in the butt!!! But never the less we did get a ton of wonderful gifts from all of our friends and family so thanks- because without you we'd be eating of paper plates haha. -September 23, 2007
