A few weeks ago, my wonderful school secretary, the fabulous Kristy Tyson called and asked me if I would come and speak to her young women at girls camp. I agreed and up I went to Heber Valley Camp. It went great and it was a lot of fun and I was glad to have it over with because it had been stressing me out. When I got home I was so excited to just sit and do nothing because I was not longer stressed about this event. The second I got home I relaxed and didn't do anything but read a good book and put my feet up. Well the next day I went to find my keys and couldn't find them. The first thing I do when I can't find my keys is blame Scottie. Why? Well lets just say that that boy and keys go together like oil and water. He is always losing my keys. For example, back during the school year when I was teaching, if I happened to be running later than usual, people would always say "Did Scott lose your keys again???" So as you can see he has a reputation for losing my keys....wallet.....glasses......computer cords, etc. The next day, which is today, my husband left to study for the CPA exam and I was to go to the bank to get checks (since we are completely out) so we could pay the landscapers. As I continued the search for the missing keys, I came up empty. I looked.....
in every article of clothing Scottie and I own
In every drawer in the kitchen, family room, bedroom
in the fridge
under the couch
under the bed
under the car
in the car
under the couch cushions
in the pantry
in the freezer
in my purse (checked inside and out)
in the garage
in my bathroom
in the laundry room
You name it! I have looked everywhere! I only have one set of keys and the car is in the garage. I haven't driven it since the day I went up to Heber, so I know they have got to be somewhere!!! So while, I was looking for my keys I began to get stressed because the landscapers were almost done with our yard and they needed to be paid! Luckily I found one, scraggly little check in my old purse but the problem was I needed not one check but two checks!!! So here I am chatting on line with Scottie, because he doesn't get service in the bottom of the BYU library. I asked him if for some odd chance he would have them in his backpack. Of course he says no and says "I guess you could walk to the bank?" I of course laugh because there is no way I am going to walk to the bank. I continued my search and even asked my mom if for some reason they would be at her house? Again I was left without keys and my landscapers were wrapping up. I called my sister in law down the road to see if she could take me but she was in the middle of running a half marathon (Go SINI!) then I asked if my friend Joy wanted to walk. her other car broke down and her husband had the car so I figured I might as well have some company. Of course she had just left five minutes ago, IN HER CAR, to visit her old neighbors! I began thinking of other options. I felt too dumb to call my busy neighbors who all have several kids "Hey do you mind rounding up your kids, buckling them all in and taking me to the bank??" haha I don't think so? I could ride by bike which has a flat, I could put on my running gear and make a run for it...purse in hand, or I could just walk. So, I swallowed my pride, grabbed my purse and started the long walk to the bank. I was just starting to feel sorry for myself when my good friend Jolene who lives across the street, was on her way home from a walk. She asked me where I was headed off to. "Oh just off to the bank! I can't find my keys and I need to get checks to pay the landscaper before they're done!" She of course came to my rescue and told me that she would take me! Oh my heavens was I so grateful for her in that very moment! I was worried I would get hit by a car or get kidnapped walking along Redwood road. Thank you Jolene for your kind service! Now if I could only find those keys......let's take bets. Do you think it was me that lost them or Scottie?? I will let you know. Until then I will be chilling at my house with nothing to do.

Birthday Getaway
Posted by
Scott & Christie Lamb
This year for my birthday, Scottie took me to Vegas to see The Lion King!!!! I was so excited to go because I've heard how amazing it is, and indeed it was! Here we are waiting for the show to start!

While we were there we stayed with my sister Amy. I haven't been to her new house since they moved back from Indiana so it was a lot of fun staying with her and hanging out with my cutest niece and nephew!

Ames and Collin, me and Kenz

Collin and Me, Scottie and Kenz
My niece, Kenzie, has got to be the funniest girl I have ever met! Last time they came up to see us she forgot her FAVORITE toy Jessie, from toy story. This little girl ADORES her! and that is an understatement, so you can imagine how devastated she was when she forgot him at Grammy's house ! So since we were headed down to Vegas, Grammy asked us if Jessie could hitch a ride with us. While were driving and getting close to Vegas, I sent Kenzie a text with this...
"I'm coming Kenz!!"
and she sent me one back with this.....
"YAY!! I've missed you Jessie!!"
She was so excited haha what a funny little girl! I loved hanging out with you guys! Thanks again Ames and Codes for being such wonderful hosts! And thanks Scottie for such a wonderful birthday present! I love you :-)

10 years in the making....
Posted by
Scott & Christie Lamb
So it is official!!! My hubby is finally a college grad! I know that 10 years sounds like he's been slacking but when you think about him going on a two year mission, basic training, and an 18 month tour of Iraq you have to be proud! Scottie graduated with a Masters in Accountancy. I am so proud of all his hard work and boy oh boy am I excited to have a husband again! This last semester was rough. He would wake up at 5:50 to get to school and study only to come home around 8-10 and do more homework until he was blue in the face! Congratulations babe I am SOOOO proud of you and all your amazing dedication!
Receiving the Diploma
I was so nervous I would miss getting a picture of Scott, so I dragged my sister Megs to help me get some pics and I booked it all the way down the 200 stairs in the Marriott Center to get a picture of Scottie getting his diploma.
My family: Dad, Mom, me, Scottie, Adam, Sini, Lincoln, Oliver, Elliott
Happiest Couple Ever!!
On Saturday, I told Scott that I was going to go "clean my mom's house". Little did he know I was throwing him a surprise graduation party. He and his family, that were in town for the big day, were headed to Thanksgiving Point to see the dinosaur museum, and that left me plenty of time to make cookies for some people and then head to my mom's house to get things in order. While I threw another tray of cookies in the oven I ran over to give my neighbor Joy some cookies to thank her for letting me borrow some vanilla. As I was at her house, my room mom from school who was making Scott's cake, called me and I rushed home to take the batch of cookies out of the oven. As I ran in the house talking on the phone to my room mom about where to meet her and what time the party was, I heard a rustling in the background. I turned around to see Scott sitting on the couch!!!!! He had come home while I was at my neighbors and I had been talking about his SURPRISE party!!!! I could have died. Thankfully he didn't ask, so I didn't say anything and then I rushed out the door to get everything ready! So off I went running all sorts of errands Costco, Partyland, etc etc.
By the time I had gotten everything ready for the big surprise I called Scottie to have him come over to my parents because we were going to have a big BBQ since my whole family was in town. It's a good thing I called him when I did because he was about to leave to go play tennis with his buddy Matt! Pheww! He was so surprised when everyone jumped out behind the counter and shouted SURPRISE!!!!
Here's the cake my wonderful room mom, Jamie Maio made! She did such an amazing job even though she had a "really hard time" making a BYU cake since she is U of U alumni....

...can you tell?
Special guests....
Auntie Megs and Kenzie
Adam, Sini and Mr. Linc
Kenzie making s'mores
Ollie O's, Kenzie and Elliott
Cody and Tanner
Scottie and Cody
And my hilarious dad trying to roast a marshmallow on the outside furnace
haha He cracks me up!
Nephews and My sweet and sassy niece
My sister Amy and Cody all the way from Vegas
And my fantastic parents for helping me pull off the party! Thanks Dad for making the tastiest ribs and chicken and thanks to my awesome trooper of a mom who just had her sixth hip surgery! She amazes me everyday! Love you guys!
Congrats babe! I love you!

I'll admit...I'm an awful teacher
Posted by
Scott & Christie Lamb
I'm an awful teacher.
It seems I have told a lie.
An awful lie.
But it promoted a child to stay in school, thus furthering his education.
Yes I may be justifying it.
Here's the story....
It was recess. Miss C. and I tend to meet up and chat for a brief moment before heading off to mold young minds, when all of a sudden my fantastic little Colton comes up to me with a half convincing smirk on his face and says "Mrs. Lamb? I'm not feeling so well. I think I need to go home."
Mrs. Lamb thinks quick and says: "Oh man? That's just too bad! You're going to miss our banana split party? Dang!"
Colton: "Wait, what did you say?"
Mrs. Lamb: "Well, ya! We're having a banana split party but I guess if you don't feel good then we should go call your mom?"
At this point Miss C. and I started to rave about this wonderful banana split party we were going to have when Colton starts rubbing his tummy and says:
"You know, I think I'm starting to feel much better and so I think I should stay?"
As he heads out the door to enjoy the last few minutes of recess, Miss C. turned to me and says.
"So what are you having a banana split party for?"
Mrs. Lamb "We're not! I can just tell a faker when I see one." :-)
Whoops?

Scott & Christie Lamb
I love the holidays for several reasons.
One, I'm done with school for a bit so I get to spend more time with my honey and my family AND make gingerbread houses...

The big man himself always comes around...

and I get to be Santa's helper...

and best of all, seeing these little kiddos get so excited!

Happy Holidays!

Dryer Malfunction
Posted by
Scott & Christie Lamb
This morning I was in quite the rush to make it to my team meeting. I knew that today was the day that the city would be pouring the cement for the sidewalks that were ripped up yesterday. We were suppose to park on the street but there was a perfect strip just long enough to get in and out my driveway so I parked in the garage instead. Since I knew they would be coming at 8:00 sharp, I thought I'd be out just in time to get out of their hair. In the process of getting ready I realized I was running late...as always and I ran into my closet to find something to wear. I grabbed a shirt out of the clean laundry that hadn't been folded yet, and ran into the laundry room. Upon my arrival I found the dryer door open with clothes inside. I threw my shirt in to relive it of its wrinkles and went to finish getting ready. As a left the laundry room, I looked out the window to see if I would be trapped in my driveway due to the cement truck that would soon be approaching my house to fill in my sidewalk. Luckily I was okay. I still had time. Seconds later I heard something that sounded like clunky shoes in the dryer. What could it be? I was in such a hurry I almost ignored it and walked past the laundry room to put on my mascara. Once again I was VERY curious as to what would be making such a loud noise so I went back into the laundry room to see what was the matter. As I opened the door to the dryer the first thing I heard was a very sad and serious "MEEEEooEEEEwwW" You can probably just picture my face as I very soon discovered that the loud noise was not shoes....it was MY CAT!!!! I have never felt so horrible in my whole life!! Please don't report me for animal cruelty. It was most definitely a tragic mistake! Not only that but my poor cat was limping and very disoriented from her wild morning ride. I scooped her up hoping that she wouldn't suddenly give up the ghost and intantly began to pamper her to let her know that I was sorry and that this was not going to be another re-run of her previouse abusive owners. I feel as if she may never be the same! Please don't judge me. From now on I will always check the dryer to be sure it is free of house pets. You should to....I was mortified. But in case you are wondering, Lemons is going to be just fine
:-) PHEEEWW!
