Little Shelbi 2002-2008

On Wednesday morning I was informed that one of my students had passed away due to a sudden illness. I was so heartbroken to hear the news not only because she was one of my dear first graders, but also because it was so unexpected. Today I attended her funeral. It was such a perfect tribute to such a bright little girl. I too felt as if I had lost a child since I spend everyday with this little girl. Through this trial it is comforting to know that her parents will one day see their little Shelbi again and that I can be comforted through the atonement of Jesus Christ. My prayers are with her wonderful family and hope that they know how blessed I was to have their darling little princess in my class. I love you Shelbi!

Oh Christie what a precious post! It is so amazing to be a teacher and to be surrounded by Heavenly Father's little angels each day at school!! Everyday I am so thankful for such a wonderful job that I enjoy so much and that I can influence the lifes of others. I am sorry to hear of the loss but I know you were a wonderful person in that little girls life!! Keep smiling!

Christie- this is my friend, Tori's little niece, so I saw it on her blog a couple of days ago. I was wondering if you knew her since she went to Pony Express... I'm so sorry! :( It's so true that you were such a ray of sunshine in her life while she was here!

Wow! It's a small world! I saw you at the viewing and I thought that you were Adams sister, but I didn't know that you were her teacher.

She was a sweet girl. I hope that your class handles this ok.

What a horrible thing to have happen! I have always wondered how I would cope if I lost any of my students or former students. How lucky she was to have you as her teacher.
